Mercury's Synchronicity

Published on .

If you had any doubt that Detroit can do new-wavy, VW-style sheet metal, doubt no more. This "Doors" spot, for Mercury-yes, Mercury-has that artsy VW shtick down to a tee, and we're lovin' it. Mercury's tag, "New doors opened" (what!?), is illustrated by shots of doors, some closed, some open, some opening. Gorgeous cinematography helmed by Robert Logevall, a great cut from Hank Corwin, and superb music composed by the unlikely duo of Don Was and Paula Cole-with no typically oppressive VO-make this a veritable Motown "Squares." Detroit, please keep up the good appropriated work.
