An elaborate pro bono outdoor campaign for the United Way in Chicago brings people together for a good cause in more ways than one. "The creative solution was inspired by the simple idea of being 'united'-to show real people uniting to help people in need," explains BBDO/Chicago writer Shane Greenwood. "Each person in the ads represents someone who has donated to the United Way, and those little people come together to provide big support in the community." And in that giving spirit, more than a hundred volunteers were recruited to pose for the shoot, after which the campaign was put together in a mere 20 days, from over 2,500 shots, requiring some 350 hours of retouching from L.A.-based David Yow.
