Peugeot spins the 206

Only seven years old, the Peugeot 206 has become the best-selling car in France. It's hardly a slouch in the rest of Europe, either. "This exceptional status entitles the 206 to a certain artistic freedom," explains Peugeot agency BETC Euro RSCG-hence a series of ads that offer fanciful takes on various 206 models and features, with reasonably sane art by Psychopathe, a French illustrator and graphic designer. If these ads have that sheet metal shape-driven flavor, reminiscent of some VW work, the 206 is such a known quantity in France, "the vehicle's silhouette is sufficiently recognizable to convey the advertising message on it own," adds BETC. Seen here is a Pop art take on the car.
