NYU film school grad Brandon David, 30, is a director, writer, producer and editor with two heavily gangsta-flava'd direct-to-video features to his credit, King Midas and Six Figures. Now he's making a move on commercials directing via a pair of well-made spec spots. A MasterCard :30 features a "Priceless" rundown of drag racing gear, and a Mountain Dew spot presents a guy performing BMX bike tricks, very imaginatively shot. Not only is David Mr. DIY behind the camera, but he's the guy driving the car and doing the bike stunts. "It was a fun way to combine all of my hobbies," he says.
