While working on a short film featuring Electric Football game figures, the stop-motion animator known simply as PES (which may seem Euro-exotic but we're informed that the 29-year-old is from New Jersey and he's going by the first three letters of his long Italian surname) has "appropriated" the hoof-stampede soundtrack of Nike's Silver Lion-winning "Wild Horses" spot and used 30 seconds of his footage to make "Wild Horses Redux" - a wild ride featuring tiny footballers charging through mink coat landscapes, coat sleeve caves and T-bone mountain passes. PES notes that the idea of creating a mini-epic adventure with Electric Football players occurred to him when he attached clip-on earrings to the players as shields. "The inch-tall plastic football figurines instantly became an army of gladiators thirsting for war. An epic adventure was in order." Let's hope an epic lawsuit from Nike isn't.
