Street Review: Evan Pearce

Published on .

Perry Ellis "Yacht" Upon first viewing, the text "Our models suffer too" is merely confusing, but subsequently it seems the line was meant to be funny. Maybe the joke is more immediately obvious if one considers the young man's struggle to refold a map to be suffering, rather than a display of idiocy, as I did. Perhaps the strength of this ad lies in its confusing nature; as one spends time trying to figure out the point of the tagline, one might also be thinking about Perry Ellis. However, I would be surprised if this was indeed the original intention of the creators. (2 stars)

Mr. Pearce is working toward his Ph.D. in chemistry at Stanford University.
