[London] Havas, which recently announced it would refocus around the Euro RSCG network in an attempt to improve profitability (AA Aug. 4), has merged London agency Partners BDDH, part of Arnold Worldwide, with Euro RSCG Wnek Gosper. The new agency will be called Euro RSCG Wnek Gosper Partners, despite the fact that Co-Chairman Brett Gosper is joining McCann-Erickson as general manager of the New York office. The merger will boost the Euro RSCG network's London presence to eighth-biggest agency in the U.K, up from 15th. Partners BDDH was ranked 20th."Our strengths are our client base, our deep management team and a robust network," said Nigel Long, chief executive of BDDH, who will retain the title at the new agency. "It also helps that we all know and respect each other." Euro RSCG Wnek Gosper's chief executive, Chris Pinnington, becomes co-chairman alongside existing Chairman-Chief Creative Officer Mark Wnek. BDDH's executive creative director, Nick Hastings, will retain his title at the new agency. Euro RSCG Wnek Gosper's clients include Peugeot, retail chain Argos and Cadbury. BDDH's clients include Citroen, which it won from Euro RSCG in 2002 after client and agency fell out over creative differences. Mr. Long said Citroen will keep the same BDDH agency team following the merger. AdAge.com QwikFIND aao90x
