[Fort Lauderdale, Fla.] Mexico City-based CIE, the largest operator of amusement parks in Latin America, will open its first U.S. venture this spring in the form of a kid-scale town called Wannado City in the Miami-Fort Lauderdale area. Aimed at 4-to-11-year-olds, Wannado City is billed as a "real-play" park that lets kids try out different jobs and make their own decisions. CIE's Fort Lauderdale-based subsidiary Wannado Entertainment this week will appoint FHB Advertising, Orlando, and U.S. Hispanic agency Zubi Advertising, Miami, to handle advertising. Marketing and advertising will target the U.S. Hispanic as well as the general market from the beginning, said Valerie McCarty, head of marketing and communications at Wannado Entertainment. The company plans to open about 10 more U.S. locations in the next several years, she said.
