Coke to launch Dasani in France

[Paris] Coca-Cola Co. said it will launch its Dasani water brand this spring in France, one of the most competitive water markets in the world. The company is altering Dasani's mineral content to appeal specifically to French consumers' tastes. The launch will be backed by a major ad campaign by Interpublic Group of Cos.' Lowe Alice, Paris. Coca-Cola is the third-largest global bottled-water marketer, with more than 20 brands in more than 100 markets. In 2002, water accounted for 42% of the growth in volume of Coca-Cola's worldwide sales.
