Aegis Group, the London-based parent company of international media specialist Carat, reported a 3% rise in pre-tax profits to $48.82 milllion for the six months ended June 30, with revenues growing 7.8% to $465.63 million. The company said it spent $3.79 million on reorganization this year; all non-Carat media agencies were folded into the new Vizeum second network, and a unit called Synovate was created for the market research businesses. ... The Royal Bank of Canada has cut its $22 million review to four Toronto-based agencies: Omnicom's BBDO Canada and TBWA/Toronto, WPP's J.Walter Thompson, and Doner Canada.
