McD's taps Burnett for its Aussie roster

By Published on .

[Sydney] Splitting its Australian account between two agencies for the first time, McDonald's Corp. moved about $34.5 million in billings for burgers, fries and chicken products without a pitch to Publicis Groupe's Leo Burnett Worldwide, Sydney from Omnicom Group's DDB Worldwide, Sydney, which handled the whole account. "The model in Australia is now virtually the same as in the U.S. and elsewhere," said Nick Cleaver, DDB's chairman-CEO, Australia in Sydney. Earlier this year, DDB lost out to Leo Burnett in Taiwan, another important Asian market for McDonald's.
