Ogilvy teams with Bates on 141

By Published on .

[Hong Kong] WPP's Ogilvy & Mather has teamed up with Bates Advertising in Asia to develop marketing services network 141 Worldwide, which has 11 offices in the region, in a move that may be extended to other regions. WPP bought Bates and 141's parent, Cordiant Communications Group, August 1. "The process we have announced is to do with Asia," said Miles Young, O&M's Hong Kong-based chairman, Asia/Pacific. "There are discussions taking place elsewhere in the world." In Asia, 141 will operate as a separate business but will report to Ogilvy. Bates will report to WPP's headquarters in London.
