Publicis lands $236M Sanofi acc't

By Published on .

[Paris] Sanofi-Synthelabo moved its $236 million creative account to Publicis Worldwide, owned by Publicis Groupe, whose ZenithOptimedia already handles the French pharmaceutical marketer's media business. Publicis beat out rival holding companies Havas and WPP Group for the assignment in a review that originally also included Interpublic Group of Cos., Grey Global Group and Omnicom Group. A Publicis spokeswoman said the account will be handled by its Healthcare Communications Group. Sanofi's creative business was scattered among different agencies. The biggest brand, prescription sleeping medication Ambien, was handled by Havas' Euro RSCG MVBMS Partners, New York, and independent healthcare shop Abelson-Taylor, Chicago.
