[Hong Kong] Japan's Toyota Motor Corp. has appointed Publicis Groupe's Saatchi & Saatchi, Beijing, to handle the nationwide launch of a line of sports utility vehicles in mainland China in November.

Saatchi was named without a pitch on the basis of the network's global relationship with Toyota. Media will be handled by ZenithOptimedia, owned 75% by Publicis and 25% by Cordiant Communications Group.

Billings were not disclosed, but the SUV marks the second line of cars manufactured and marketed by Toyota in China. Last year, the carmaker introduced a small sedan called Vios, with advertising created by Dentsu, another major Toyota agency.
