[Tokyo] Suntory, one of Japan's largest beverage marketers, has launched a high-tech ad for sports drink Nenshokei Amino-shiki in Tokyo's Ginza subway line, one of the city's main commuter arteries. Called motion-picture tunnel advertising, the ad works like a zoetrope, in which still images placed in a cylinder appear to be in motion when the device is spun on its axis.

Images from a TV spot were placed on 150 sheets of film on display boxes along tunnel walls, creating about 15 seconds of moving images. The ad, by Tokyo Metro Co., Japanese outdoor media agency NKB and Submedia, New York, depicts two male students exercising by rolling their way onto a school playground.
