Virgin Mobile Canada seeks shop

By Published on .

[New York] Virgin Mobile Canada, a telecommunication venture jointly owned by Virgin Group and Bell Mobility, is talking to five Canadian shops to handle the service's launch in late 2004 or early 2005. Nathan Rosenberg, Virgin Mobile Canada's chief marketing officer, would not name specific agencies or disclose the budget, but said, "We are absolutely looking for one or more agencies." Creative agencies have been asked to partner with a media shop for presentations. A decision is expected this month. New York-based consultancy Gilbert Taney Farlie is handling the search. Virgin Group is already a mobile-phone services provider in the U.S., U.K. and Australia.
