WPP, Publicis split Zenith in Asia

By Published on .

[Hong Kong] WPP Group will keep a number of ZenithOptimedia offices in Asia that were majority-owned by Bates Worldwide, a unit of Cordiant Communications Group acquired by WPP in July. In most of the world, Publicis owned 75% of ZenithOptimedia and Cordiant had a 25% stake that Publicis has acquired from WPP. WPP's MindShare will manage the former Bates-owned Zenith offices in Hong Kong, Indochina and India, and they will be rebranded under a new name next year. Clients will be divided between WPP and Publicis media agencies in Asia based on past ownership and client relationships.
