Cossette Communication Group made its third U.K. acquisition, London ad agency Miles Calcraft Briginshaw Duffy and its direct marketing subsidiary Elvis, as Canada's biggest advertising group continues to try to build a "midsize network for clients with international communications needs," according to chairman-CEO Claude Lessard. Cossette paid $14 million for an initial 51% stake in a deal that will be worth up to $48 million. MCBD was founded in 1999 with backing from David Abbott, a founder of the U.K.'s No. 1 agency, Abbott Mead Vickers BBDO.
