Interpublic divests stake in Springer & Jacoby

By Published on .

[Duesseldorf, Germany] Interpublic Group of Cos. is considering divesting its 51% stake in poorly-performing German-based European agency network Springer & Jacoby, either in a sale to its management or to another agency such as Scholz & Friends, another German-based network. Springer & Jacoby may also be facing a pitch by its biggest client, Mercedes Benz. Interpublic declined to comment, but executives said the holding company is in the "middle stages" of discussing possible deals. Springer & Jacoby was part of True North when Interpublic acquired that holding company, and isn't considered strategically important to Interpublic.
