Michael Smellie, 52, to president-media development in Asia Pacific for German media group Bertelsmann, a new post in which he will be in charge of Bertelsmann's growth in the region, including supporting corporate acquisitions. Mr. Smellie's first task is to focus on developing Bertelsmann's business in China. Mr. Smellie was previously chief operating officer of Sony BMG, a merger he put together in an earlier job at Bertelsmann's music group
Amy Smith, 39, to CEO- JWT Australia and New Zealand, from managing director, Whybin TBWA in Melbourne, Australia. She succeeds Mike Connaghan, who became CEO of STW Group, which owns 49% of JWT ANZ. Before returning to her native Australia, Ms. Smith was managing director of Wieden & Kennedy, London, until December 2003.
