By Published on .

[Sydney, Australia] Unilever has retained Interpublic's Universal McCann as its media-planning and -buying agency in Australia following a lengthy pitch against WPP's MindShare. The account is worth $30.5 million. "We feel comfortable that this decision will help ensure Unilever continues to drive excellence in media in the Australian market," said Sophie Madden, Unilever's media director, Australia, in Sydney. Universal McCann has handled Unilever's media in Australia for the past seven years. Unilever does frequent country-by-country media reviews, pitting MindShare against an Interpublic media agency, usually Initiative Media.
