In last week's chart tallying the top TV shows on entertainment check-in service GetGlue, "The Big Bang Theory" failed yet again to recapture the top spot from the much lower-rated "Nikita." This week it fell two more spots as smaller shows generated buzz with their season finales.

- "New Girl" made an unlikely resurgence last week, but this week the bottom-of -the-chart curveball came in the form of a game-changing season finale for "The Secret Circle," which aired a day before news broke that the show would not be returning. (It hadn't been on the chart since early January.) The rest of the CW's stable of broody genre dramas -- all of which have been renewed for the fall -- fared well, with "Nikita" holding steady at No. 1 for the fifth week in a row with 147,000 check-ins and "The Vampire Diaries" managing to take No. 2 on a huge leap in check-ins.
- Fans of multiple universes and imminent apocalypses tuned in for the "Fringe" finale on Fox Friday night, just days after the show was renewed for a final 13 episodes in the fall, earning it a slight boost in ratings and the No. 3 spot on the chart with 78,000 check-ins.
The notoriously low-rated "Fringe" regularly posts the largest gains in live-plus -DVR viewership -- as many as 80% of its viewers don't actually watch "Fringe" as it airs. Its social footprint still seems much larger than its ultimate viewing audience.
- Speaking of Fox shows, "Glee" managed to score more check-ins and post higher ratings last week as the season approached its conclusion, but thanks to some stiff competition still fell two spots to No. 10. The show, which is often lambasted by critics for its poor characterization but remains a solid performer, will air its season finale on May 22 .
