As much as our weekly Brand Chatter Chart helps demonstrate TV's power to drive conversation on Twitter, it also regularly reveals that there are other ways to gin up tweets.
Take, for example, the brand with the biggest lift in Twitter volume, according to our editorial partner Bluefin Labs: Chipotle, which didn't have a big TV campaign to speak of . Instead, Chipotle generated big buzz on Twitter with a Halloween promotion offering $2 burritos to customers who showed up dressed in costume.
Taco Bell and Doritos likewise benefited from promotional activity, Bluefin found.
The chart again reveals how brands can get massive traction on Twitter when they least expect it. Jeep received a big lift in Twitter mentions not because of its TV commercials, but because of a Romney campaign commercial claiming President Obama shipped Jeep jobs to China.
Of all the brands on this week's chart, perhaps "Call of Duty" won its place the most traditional way: with advertising (its own). The latest "Call of Duty" game is engaged in a brutal ad battle with new installments in the "Assassin's Creed" and "Halo" franchises.
