Production: Chronicle Books wanted to boost the profiles of its authors to spur publicity and sales. The publisher called on TurnHere, a Web-video production operation that matches clients with videographers and delivers finished segments. The videos cost Chronicle about $4,000 each, and TurnHere helps distribute them on its own site, Chronicle's site, as well as video destinations such as YouTube and Google.
Result: The video profiling the authors of "I Was a Really Good Mother Before I Had Children" helped the company get the attention of TV talk shows, and appearances on programs including "The Today Show" and "Rachael Ray" increased book sales. The company is planning to do videos for all its major titles being released in 2008.-Greg Baumann and Daisy Whitney
