Adobe Profit Surges With Web-Video Boom

Adobe’s fourth-quarter revenue rose 33 percent to $911 million and profit grew 21 percent to $222.2 million, PaidContent reports. Sales of the company’s video products, including Flash, increased 37 percent, and about three-quarters of online video broadcasters use the technology, Adobe said. Adobe CEO Shantanu Narayen addressed the emergent competition from Microsoft’s Silverlight product saying that multiple companies are trying to get a piece of the Web experience, and Silverlight is focusing on the same Web-media elements that Adobe did with the Flash player.
