Brightcove Shifts Focus to Pros, Not Joes

Brightcove, a leader in the video services race, today told users who have been using Brightcove.TV to upload and share personal video clips that it wouldn’t support that activity as of Dec. 18. It may be another watershed moment for Web video, signaling that user-generated material can be more entertaining than remunerative. In a blog entry on the company’s site, Brightcove says the change is part of its evolution away from end user-centric services toward catering to commercial clients.
