Cable, Telcos to Determine Web Video’s Future

Dan Rayburn, who organizes the Web-video industry event Streaming Media, says the Internet pipeline companies are exerting more power over the medium. With regard to peer-to-peer traffic, which can deliver video effectively (but can gobble up bandwidth on cable and telco networks), the pipeline companies may exert their power and create two tiers of data delivery. Content may be king, but the guys who control the flow of the bits win in the long run, Rayburn says in an interview on Beet.TV.
