China’s Ministry of Information Industry has added a clarification to its recent law requiring the government to own or have a controlling interest in Web video-sharing sites, PaidContent says. According to a Chinese technology Web site, 163.com, the MII will allow sites released before the law was announced to reregister and continue operating as is. The law was announced earlier this year in a government effort to regulate the online distribution of potentially classified or obscene content.
