China to Restrict Web Video to State-Run Sites

China issued rules that would restrict Web video distribution to government-run sites, the Wall Street Journal reports (subscription required). While it’s yet to be seen how strictly the new rule is enforced, it could be bad news for video streaming sites in the U.S., like YouTube, and Chinese domestic sites like Tudou.com.
