Chinese Web Video Sites Raise Funding

Chinese video sharing site Youku raised $40 million in second-round funding, Silicon Alley Insider says. The round included $30 million in venture capital funding, led by Maverick Capital, with additional funds from Brookside Capital Partners, Sutter Hill Ventures, Farallon Capital and Chengwei Ventures, and a $10 million equipment loan from Western Technology Investment. Another Chinese video-sharing site, Ku6.com, raised $30 million in a Series C round, NewTeeVee says.
