New Corp.’s Fox Close to iTunes Deal for Movies

By Greg Published on .

PaidContent notes that Pali analyst Richard Greenfield is posting on his blog that News Corp. and Twentieth Century Fox are close to a deal to offer new releases and catalog movie titles through iTunes beginning in 2008. Disney is currently the only studio with a full catalog on iTunes. Greenfield reports that Apple may be willing to raise the wholesale price of titles above the $14-$14.50 currently paid per flick. Competition on iTunes from Amazon.com’s download service may be motivating Disney to get flexible on pricing, according to the New York Times’ Bits blog.
