Walt Disney Co. is rearranging its M&A functions in the digital media realm, forming a group led by EVP of Corporate Development Kevin Mayer, TechCrunch says

some more details, saying the unit includes vice presidents Leigh Zarelli and Matt Pillar. The deals Disney has in mind will be outside its family viewing and sports businesses, PaidContent reports. The group is looking at acquisitions for less than $20 million upfront, with cash and earnouts as the formula. The formation of the unit indicates Disney is looking to be opportunistic in looking for startups.
