Eisner Discloses ‘Prom Queen’ Costs, Profits

By Staff Published on .

Former Walt Disney Co. CEO Michael Eisner, who now runs digital production shop Vuguru, said most original productions for the Web aren’t profitable yet, and it’s not clear how that business will develop, the New York Times reports. While revenue from the projects are growing, profits have yet to develop, he said. The “Prom Queen” Web series cost about $3,000 per 90 seconds of show, Eisner said. He said the first season of the show earned “a couple thousand dollars.” The sequel lost money, he said, according to the Times.
