OfficeMax’s ElfYourself promotional Web site attracted 26.4 million visitors, almost one out of every 10 Americans, during the month of December. Visitors were able to upload their own images, paste them on elves’ bodies, and watch them dance. Execs say the site was mostly intended to increase brand recognition, not necessarily sales, according to AdAge.
