Hulu and Openhulu: Strange Bedfellows

Viewers now have two sites to watch Hulu video content—Hulu.com and Openhulu.com, a site that features all of Hulu’s content as embedded videos. What is particularly striking about this situation is that Hulu will allow Openhulu to stream its content even though they have no formal connection, Daisy Whitney reports on TVWeek.com. “We encourage viral distribution of Hulu content on the Web,” says Hulu spokeswoman Christina Lee. “That said, viral distribution of premium content is still a new concept and we evaluate each usage of the Hulu player on a case-by-case basis.”
