Microsoft Makes More Web-Video Plays

Microsoft used the Consumer Electronics Show to muscle further into the Web-video arena, announcing deals to stream hours of NBC’s Summer Olympics coverage on MSN, VideoNuze reports in a wrap. The video will run on Microsoft’s Silverlight technology, which is taking a run at Adobe’s Flash product. Microsoft also boosted its Xbox LIVE content offerings, announcing ABC/Disney and MGM shows would be providing content. There’s 17.7 million XBox units out there, making the game-console a potent channel for video distribution.
