NBCU’s Zucker: Digital Media Still Experimental

By Greg Published on .

NBC Universal President and CEO Jeff Zucker, speaking at the UBS Global Media & Communications Conference, expressed caution as to how soon the digital entertainment business will get figured out, perhaps a wise position to take amidst a writers strike that centers on sharing digital profits. He said one of his goals is replacing the $15 million in revenue that won’t be coming in after he broke off his company’s download deal with Apple’s iTunes, according to PaidContent. But among Zucker’s priorities the digital entertainment-Web video issue comes in last, PaidContent says. The CEO said his concern is making sure that his company doesn’t replace TV advertising dollars with digital advertising pennies. He said Hulu, the video destination joint venture that includes NBC and News Corp., has 60,000 users and seven advertisers.
