NBCU Strict With Olympic Content

By Sergio Published on .

NBC Universal will have extensive Web video coverage of the upcoming Beijing Olympics, but the most popular events won’t be shown until after their TV broadcast, says Silicon Alley Insider, citing a report from the Associated Press. NBCU plans some 2,200 hours of live Web coverage, but the company, which paid $800 million in rights to the Games, won’t allow other news organizations to run any of it. The company is working with other video sites to keep pirated video off their sites.
