Online Video Consumption Rising at Work

New Nielsen data shows that TV content gets significant spikes in online views during daytime, Silicon Alley Insider says. Nielsen Vice President of Video and Media Dave Osborn said that most network clips receive 30-90% more views during the day. Online consumption during daytime has been affecting many workplaces’ use of network bandwidth, prompting them to block popular video sites, the Wall Street Journal notes. Online video consumption in general is expected reach over 154 million people in 2008, a new eMarketer study finds. The number, which includes Internet users who view videos online at least once a month, accounts for almost 80% of total usage and 53% of the total U.S. population.
