P2P Networks Account for 44% of Bandwidth Usage

A study by the bandwidth-management systems vendor Sandvine says peer-to-peer file-sharing applications account for nearly 44% of North American ISP bandwidth consumption, Multichannel News says. The figure is up from 41% a year ago. Web browsing was second with 27% of the traffic, while streaming media was third, with nearly 15%.
