Sony’s Crackle, nee Grouper, Signs Ad Deals

Pepsi, Honda, Epson, Sony and Vodaphone will all be sponsoring ads on Crackle, the video-sharing site Sony rebranded earlier this year, PaidContent says. The site, formerly known as Grouper, wasn’t drawing in ads with its emphasis on user-generated material. So Sony refocused it to offer “user-generated plus” originals that have higher production quality. Crackle is trying to draw production talent with chances to pitch material to studio executives.
