Sundance Trims Web Video Offerings

The Sundance Film Festival opens today, with some sessions trumpeting the growth of Web video. So Wired.com asks why the group is reducing its own Web video offerings. In 2007, Sundance’s Online Film Festival offered nearly 50 films. This year: 10. Sundance officials say they are trying to eliminate competition with iTunes and other video sites, where the material also is available. So users can pay to download items that in the past were free, Wired points out.
