At least seven groups of striking Hollywood writers are planning Web-video enterprises that would let them bypass traditional channels of TV distribution, the Los Angeles Times reports. The venture capital community, emboldened to place bets on entertainment companies by the high valuation placed on YouTube when it was purchased, is taking meetings with writers.
