Wal-Mart Shuts Down Video Download Site

Wal-Mart Stores Inc. pulled the plug on its video-download service, a competitor to Amazon’s Unbox and Apple’s iTunes, after less than a year in the market, Reuters reports. The retailer cut the service after vendor Hewlett Packard Co. stopped providing the technology that powered the Wal-Mart site. Hewlett Packard said the market for paid video downloads didn’t live up to expectations.
