Following on troubles reported yesterday, online video technology provider ROO appointed Kaleil Isaza Tuzman as chairman and CEO. He will start Jan. 9, succeeding Robert Petty, who will stay on as vice chairman of the board and founder, TVWeek says. ROO yesterday announced that four independent members of the company’s board of directors resigned and the company acknowledged that the former board members advised management of “unsubstantiated rumors regarding certain allegations made against members of our senior management, one of who is also a director,” PaidContent reports. The company denied the allegations but said that if the rumors proved true, Roo’s ability to remain a going concern would be hampered. Isaza Tuzman currently is president and chief operating officer of JumpTV. He will step down from that post Jan. 8 but will remain on the JumpTV board. Roo said it brought Mr. Isaza Tuzman on to “rationalize the existing business and position ROO to become the leader in IPTV infrastructure services—through both organic growth and strategic acquisition.”
