MySpace Entertains Troops
The social networking site MySpace will stream a concert for U.S. troops in Kuwait on March 10. Scheduled to appear are the Pussycat Dolls, Jessica Simpson and Carlos Mencia. The Webcast, “Operation MySpace,” will use the Adobe Flash Media Server through Akamai’s delivery network while Kulabyte handles the distribution in live HD video.
Bebo Goes Snowboarding With Oakley
Online social network Bebo has teamed with Oakley to create a snowboarding documentary series, “Conquering Demons,” now streaming at Bebo.com, BrandRepublic says. The clips will chronicle the adventures of two British snowboarding champions as they shred through the French Alps and trace the “psychology of fear” within the sport.
ShredorDie.com, a joint venture between the folks behind FunnyorDie.com and skateboarding superstar Tony Hawk, officially launched this week. The action-sports site had received more than 1,000 user submissions since its testing launch last October.
