YouTube’s $491 Mil Potential

Citigroup calculations say that YouTube could earn $491 million in net revenue in 2009 by selling banner ads on all pages, based on expected page views and MySpace’s CPM rate of $1.13, NewTeeVee reports. Citigroup notes that only 28 of the 100 most-viewed videos in the last month displayed advertisements. YouTube remains selective when accepting ad partners and looks to keep from advertising on pages displaying unauthorized content.
