Tribune Co. put Times Mirror Magazines up for sale last week following its $6.5 billion acquisition of Times Mirror Co. It said the magazine arm generated $279 million in revenue last year. Separately, Tribune agreed to sell educational publishing unit Tribune Education to McGraw-Hill Cos. for about $635 million. Tribune lowered earnings forecasts for the second quarter and full year, but predicted "at least" 20% growth in earnings per share in 2001. In trading Friday, Tribune closed at $35, up 2.94% for the week.
