True North Communications, bucking a down week for the stock market, jumped 6.4% and set a 52-week high of $50.44 July 26 after reporting second-quarter profit was up 29% over 1999. Some analysts forecast the stock could reach $59. Interpublic Group of Cos., Omnicom Group and Young & Rubicam, which also reported solid profit gains last week, generated less investor enthusiasm. Interpublic stock fell 7.8% after it said second-quarter profit was up 15%. In trading Friday, TN stock closed at $49.31, up 7.5% for the week.
