Clear Channel Communications, a major operator of radio stations and out-of-home advertising displays, joined the AdMarket 50 index last week, taking the slot previously held by Times Mirror Co., which was acquired by Tribune Co. June 12. Tribune also is a component of the index. Clear Channel expects to close mergers with radio station operator AMFM and entertainment promoter/venue operator SFX Entertainment this year. In trading Friday, Clear Channel closed at $81.69, up 4.81% for the week.
